The Bridge Academy Class of 2026
ABOUT THE BRIDGE ACADEMY
The Bridge Academy is a workforce development initiative which connects local business leaders with high school students through meaningful mentorship and hands-on career exploration. Throughout the program, mentor-mentee teams visit a variety of businesses across the community, giving students firsthand exposure to diverse industries, workplace environments, and career opportunities. These experiences help students develop leadership, professionalism, and career readiness while expanding their understanding of the local workforce. At the same time, mentors strengthen their leadership and coaching skills by investing in the next generation. Together, they build relationships that inspire future success and strengthen Southaven's talent pipeline.

Our cohort started out the year in March with a Meet and Greet with the mentors, mentees, and the mentees' parents. This is the first time everyone meets in person and learns about the expectations of the sessions.

The Bridge Academy concludes with a graduation celebration at the Southaven Chamber of Commerce August quarterly luncheon.
